Are Your Requests Bold Enough?

Acts 3:6 (NKJV) Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

This man asked for alms but received a miracle instead. Peter and John were on their way to the Temple at the ninth hour which was the hour of prayer. They encounter a beggar at the gate looking for a handout. He looked at Peter and John hoping they would give him something. They saw him and asked him to look at them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” For what do you ask? Is it enough?

God wants to bless you with more than you can ask or imagine. He has blessings stored up with your name on them and longs to give them to you. He created a universe to support you. He has written your name on the palms of His hands. And yet, you ask for a few coins or a crust of bread. You are an heir with Christ to the Kingdom of God! You ask for alms. You have not because you ask not! All these blessing of which I speak; they are yours for the asking. But the key is you need to ask. For what do you ask? Are your requests bold? John 14:13-14 (NKJV) says 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it . And you ask for alms. I want to point out the “whatever you ask in My name” part. This addresses your motive. Why are you asking? Is it selfish desire or are you wanting to help others? Yes, there are things that you need for yourself. God wants you to be blessed. When you ask for things that will benefit others as well, God desires to open the floodgates of heaven and pour out more blessings than you have room to handle. Boldly come before the Throne of grace and ask your Heavenly Father for the things He wants you to have. Live in the center of His will and be blessed through His grace. You are His beloved child. You are the Prince or Princess. Walk boldly before your Father and ask for His blessing. In Jesus name!

Thank you Father that You bless us daily with much more than we deserve. It is by Your grace that we live. Show us Your grace and compassion and help us to pass them on to others so they will know that we are Your followers. Let our light, the light You gave us, shine into the lives of others and may we be a blessing to many. All this to bring glory to You. Amen!
