Armed and Dangerous

Daniel 3

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[c] from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

I’m a dangerous man. I’ve got a Bible and I am not afraid to use it! I pray dangerous prayers. I will boldly pray for healing. Someone once said that my prayers are dangerous. What if I pray for healing the person doesn’t get well? What if I don’t pray for their healing? Will that help them? If I pray for healing and their illness gets worse, am I a failure at praying?

Sometimes we pray for healing when God has a resurrection in mind. Their healing may not come in this life. Should I give in to the enemy and not pray at all? After all, what good will it do? The Scripture says the prayers of a righteous man avails much. Maybe I am not righteous enough? Maybe that is why God did not answer my prayer in the way I wanted. Or did He? You see, I usually add an addendum. Four words: “Thy will be done!” I believe God knows best! When I pray, I ask for what I think is best but know God’s plan is really the way to go.

I have a friend with stage 4 cancer. He is a believer! The cancer is all over and spreading. I take him to some of his appointments and we speak frankly. What if he does not make it? Our conversation is about the truth. We plan for contingencies. Things are not looking good. But we do not speak as those who do not have hope. For I was not given a spirit of timidity but of boldness. I boldly ask for his healing. I am going to launch an all out campaign of fervent prayer. I will P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens)! It is my nature to push. So Lord, watch out. I am going to keep bugging you for the healing of my friend. I will pray without ceasing. Since I am righteous by the blood of the Lamb, I know You will hear and listen to those prayers. I will come into Your presence again and again with this petition. Please heal him! But even if You don’t my hope is You alone. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were tested and replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

You see, I am not just a man of faith when things are going my way. I walk with my Lord wherever He leads. Good time and bad, Jesus is my Lord and Savior. It is all up to Him. He will deliver me. Who will deliver you?

Father, I thank you for each day and each person I meet. Your grace is unfathomable. Nevertheless, I come to Your throne boldly asking for more. I ask for the healing of my friend. I know You can do all things. As Your servant, I ask for this one thing. While I remain steadfast in my faith, I boldly pray for a healing now. In Jesus name I pray.
