December 10 What is your GPS?

Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)
21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

What is your GPS, your God Positioning System? How do you know where God wants you to be? Do you listen for His voice guiding you? It is often hard to know what God wants for us. There are so many things that confront us today that we are not sure which way to go.

Isaiah tells us we will hear a word behind us indicating which way we should go. The Lord will guide you if you let Him.

My GPS is a woman’s voice. She knows that men don’t ask for directions so she tells me which way to go. She is very explicit in her instructions. She leaves nothing to chance. She even tells me how many more feet it is until I have to turn and which way. If I listen, I am able to get places I have never been before. I drive her crazy when I don’t listen. “Make a u-turn if possible” is heard a lot in my car. I am difficult to manage. I always want to go my own way. I don’t listen well. Someday, she is going to scream “You never listen to me!”

That is sort of how it is with me and God. He stands on my dashboard and sometimes my shoulder telling me which way I should go but I don’t usually listen. I am getting better though. I have come to a place where I hear when He speaks. When I choose which direction, things are not always so good. When He chooses, things work out great. Do you listen to your GPS? God will tell you exactly which way to go either through His word or by His Holy Spirit. But you have to listen. Don’t be like me and try to get their on your own. The road is bumpy. When you listen to the GPS, God goes before you paving the way. He will tell you which way to go if you will ask and then follow the directions. Will you listen? I pray you do.

Sovereign Lord, be our GPS today! Direct us aright through Your own good counsel. Lead us in the path we should take. Teach us Your ways. Let us follow You that we may bring You glory. In Your name we pray! Amen!
