Do All Good Dogs Go To Heaven?

Job 12:7 and 10
“Ask the animals, and they will teach you…In God’s hand is the life of every creature, and the breath of all mankind.”

Job tells us that the animals will teach us about God and His love. For each and every creature, us included, is in the palm of His hand. We all matter.

Have you ever wondered if your pet will be with you in heaven? You are not alone. Many people think animals do not have a soul and do not go to heaven. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3:19: “After all, the same fate awaits human beings and animals alike. One dies just like the other. They are the same kind of creature…. The God who created us created each animal as He wanted them to be. And all of creation is under the curse of sin. Romans 8 tells us 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. All of creation can also be redeemed and Christ came to accomplish that redemption. It is done!

God loves all His creation. Matthew 6:26 says 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. He loves the birds of the air and the puppies of the ground as much as He loves you. We all matter to Him. He puts these beautiful creatures into our lives at just the right time. A time when we need them. Milo came to us just after we lost Taco. I didn’t want another dog but God had other plans.

Our Lord wants us all to be with Him where He is. He is at the right hand of God the Father. And we get to go there to with Duchess and Becky and Danny and Rocky and Benjamin and Teddy and Taco and Rufus and all of our beloved friends. To err is human; to forgive is canine!

Thank You Lord for all our four footed friends! They are awesome. They come into our lives to rescue us rather than be rescued. And each one is perfect for our needs. Thank you that dogs got to be our best friends by wagging their tails and not their tongues. Help us to appreciate the incredible gift You have given us with each one of our pets. In Jesus name we pray.
