May 3 Get in or Get Out!

Psalm 9:10 (NIV)
10 Those who know your name trust in you,  for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Do you trust Him? That is the ultimate question. Many people call themselves Christians but it is supposed to go deeper than a name. It is supposed to mean that you have put your faith and trust in Christ and what He has done on the cross. It is not a knowledge of Christ that qualifies you. You must invite Him into your heart and let Him run your life.

Rev. Dr. Dana Allin preached a sermon at our church. He told the wheel barrow story. It goes like this. A man strung a cable across Niagara Falls, a very large waterfall. The first day, he walked that tightrope across the falls to everyone’s surprise and delight. The next day, he returned with a unicycle which he rode across the falls and back. The crowd went wild. Yet the next day, this man showed up with a wheel barrow filled with potatoes. Yup, he walked across and back. This was unbelievable! The crowd was cheering wildly. The man put up his hand to quiet the crowd and then he spoke. He asked the crowd if they thought he could walk across the falls and back again with a person in the wheel barrow? There was a rousing yes from the crowd! The man said “Great, I need a volunteer!”

Are you willing to get in the wheel barrow? Or are you just one of the crowd who will cheer the tightrope walker on as he goes but you’re not ready to into the wheel barrow? Making the commitment has eternal benefits. Don’t just watch and hope. Open the door to your heart. Ask Him in! Let Him fill your heart and your life with more blessings than you can ask or imagine. Get in! The rewards are beyond all you can ask or imagine!

Who are we that You are mindful of us? Lord, Thank You for all Your blessings. Who can fathom Your love for us? Even though we cannot grasp that magnitude of love, we can accept it into our lives. By Your Spirit, help us to open our hearts to You now and light the way for others. In Jesus name we pray.
