November 14 Can or Can’t – You Decide!

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Are you a can-do person? Attitude matters in all of life. Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you’re right. How you approach any situation will influence the outcome. If you believe you can succeed, you will. It also helps when you realize the gifts and talents you have were given to you by your Creator. He also is willing to help you if you ask.

When you were created, the Lord gave you everything you would need to achieve your destiny. You may feel like you come up short but that is just not true. You are equipped, empowered and anointed for the life God chose for you. You have everything you need because one of the things you have is Him. No matter what you face, Christ, who is within you by His Spirit, can help and He is willing.

So what is your situation? Are you a can or a can’t? Can people don’t waste time worrying about things that don’t matter. They focus on solving the challenge. My friend Fred is a can-do person; a problem solver. He does not waste time on why it cannot happen. He finds ways to make things happen. Fred has faith that he will be able to accomplish his goal because he does not work it alone. He knows that the Lord God Almighty goes before him paving the way. I admire that quality and try to do the same. Fred is kind of quiet but there is an assurance built in that causes determination. And he uses that determination to help others. When Fred is involved, things get done.

So what kind of person are you? Do you pray and ask God for His guidance and help? Do you approach a task with assurance and determination? Do you run the race with perseverance? Do you realize all the gifts and talents the Lord has given you? He has designed you to accomplish great things in life and given you the gifts you need to reach your destiny. What is stopping you? Don’t you believe in yourself? Don’t you believe Him? Greater is He who is in you the he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are accepted, chosen, equipped, favored, loved, redeemed and worthy all because God says so! It’s in His Book. And He created you and knows that you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

So how should you handle a situation? Always approach with a can–do attitude and you will do well. If I get a “can’t” on the phone, I hang up and call back even if I have to wait for another person. I am polite but I don’t want to spend time with them. There is no sense wasting time with a can’t. There is no sense being a can’t! All things are possible with Christ. Believe!

Lord God, thank You that You go before us making crooked paths straight. When you give us challenges, it is to refine us and make us better. Thank You that You give us all the gifts and talents we will need to succeed in the race You lay out before us. Thank you that, because of Your design, we are well able to do all things set before us. In Your name we pray! Amen!
