November 26 Attitude of Gratitude

Psalm 50:23 (NKJV)
23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright
I will show the salvation of God.”

How do you go through life? Are you happy or sad? Are you looking at what others have and wondering how you can get it for yourself? Do you let an attitude of gratitude flavor all you do? That way, everything will go better.

In this Psalm, God tells us that praising glorifies Him. Gratitude is a form of praise. God tells us the He will show us His salvation. His salvation means spending eternity with Him and that means everything. There is no better opportunity anywhere.

Life is too short to be living it grumpy! When you focus on what you don’t have, you become bitter and angry. To be content with your situation gives you the chance to live in the moment and enjoy everything. You can see the little wonders of life and appreciate everyone and everything. In that frame of mind, you can overlook life’s little annoyances and still enjoy things. Contentment does not mean resignation. It does not mean that you don’t try to improve your situation. It means being happy where you are in your God given journey. You are on your way to your destiny. Enjoy the journey.

In the USA, we celebrate a day of being thankful. It is a time to remember all we have been given. This includes those who are no longer here with us but have been in our lives. They are still a part of who and where we are today. We always celebrate at our house. There is always a seat at our table for those who may be alone. It is a time to count our blessings. I am blessed with a wonderful wife, with children, a great home, friends, health, great family, gifts and talents, deep faith and a Lord who loves me so much He gave Himself up for me! Greater love has no one that this, than to lay down His life for His friends (John 15:13). Oh, did I mention Jesus is my friend? And the really great news is He wants to be your friend too!

Are you happy where you are? Do you get real joy out of each day? If not, why not? There is joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control for those who invite Christ into their lives. He can change you from the inside out. You can begin to enjoy your life right where you are. You are surrounded with blessings right now. Open your eyes to your current blessings. Sure, there are still hurdles to climb. That’s OK. You have what it takes even if you have to ask for help. Your help will come! May the God of all grace bless you beyond all you could ask or imagene this day and every day. He will never leave nor forsake you no matter what. He is your light no matter how deep the darkness seems. And He loves you so much! Whether you see it or not, you are blessed each and every day. Focus on Him and give thanks for He is good.

Father, thank You for everything. Even the bad things You use for our good. There has never been another like You who loves His children so much. Help us to feel that love each day. But moreover, help us to share that love with everyone we meet to let them know that they are loved too! I pray that each person would come to know Your love for them as I have. All glory laud and honor to You my Savior King! Amen!
