Under Attack

John 10:10 (NKJV)
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Have you ever felt that something was attacking you? You were doing fine and then all of a sudden, you are feeling anxious and having trouble breathing. It is as if some irritant was introduced into the area and your discomfort begins to rise. Most would call it inexplicable. I am at a place where I am beginning to recognize an attack.

I went to lunch with my friend Len Deo yesterday and our discussion turned to building the Kingdom of God. Len told me about plans for the future of benefitting families in New Jersey. Then I got to talk about the call I am feeling to minister to Pastors and Churches. As I speak about the vision I have been given, my passion for the Lord begins to rise. I cannot contain my enthusiasm. I love the Lord and it shows. I began to get very excited about my calling. The same happens with Len. His calling and Mission produce the same results.

Just about the time we get rolling on how we want to glorify God, we began feeling anxious and coughing. I asked Len how he was feeling. He said he noticed the same thing. It wasn’t the food. We ate different things. I didn’t realize it in that moment but the enemy did not want us to have that conversation. When we start speaking about building the Kingdom, it was my feeling that we both came under attack. The accuser wants to prevent people from doing God’s work!

I headed off after lunch to do my errands but the anxious feelings and the stress would not leave. I wrote to Len after to see how he was feeling and did he feel attacked. Yes, he did! Len asked me to call so we could pray. I was on another appointment but when I arrived home, I called Len. We discussed the situation for a minute and then Len prayed. He asked for the Lord to send the Angel Michael to fight against our enemy and free us from this attack. After that, I prayed for the full armor of God to protect us and that the Lord would strengthen us so we could stand through this trial. At that point, my anxiety began to melt away. The lord had answered our request.

Do you believe Satan exists? Jesus knows he does.  Luke 10:18 says (NKJV)18 And He [Jesus] said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Jesus tells up about Satan’s existence so we know our enemy is there. People wonder why bad things happen. We have someone whose mission it to kill and steal and destroy. If you have plans to glorify God, you are on his hit list. Better wear the Full Armor of God at all times. Be prepared! The Lord will help you to stand.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You always help us stand. Thanks that we find shelter in you. Thanks that You came to give us an abundant life. By Your Spirit, protect us from these attacks. In Your name we pray.
