Ephesians 6:9-10
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Have you ever not tried something because you were afraid you would fail and it would not come out right? Failure is not such a bad thing. Failure is the stepping stone to success. Thomas Edison had 10,000 failures in the incandescent lamp but you remember attempt 10,001. What if he had said enough and quit! We might be in the dark. When interviewed, he said he had not failed, he had just discovered 10,000 ways it would not work. Now that is the right attitude.
Are you surrounded by people who say things like “we tried that once and it didn’t work?” How about the ones with “we’ve always done it this way.” There are those who would stifle creativity and progress. Try to avoid them if you can although that may be hard especially if you work with them or they are your family. But you do have the right to ignore negative comments and continue on the path to your destiny. God has a great plan for your life. He has given you all that you need to reach that destiny. All you have to do is keep trying.
When I was a kid, I failed a few times. Alright, I failed a lot. My Mom was frustrated by my out-of-the-box ideas. I am of the “wait ‘til your father gets home” generation. I had to suffer the anguish of waiting. So Dad was home for breakfast since he worked late. My Dad was an encouraging guy of few words. You know what he said? “You’ll do better next time!” That was it. He knew I would fail at things but he wanted me to go on to success. Don’t stop at failure. Do not grow weary while doing good! Success can be just around the corner. Don’t Give UP!
Father, thank You that You have a great plan for our life. Lead us through the hard times on our way to the blessings You have stored up for us. Remind us that good awaits and give us the passion and the stamina to keep going. Thank You for all You have done for us. Help us to do good for others in Your name.
