Your Dreams Are Not Dead!

Numbers 17:7-8
And Moses placed the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.
Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.

Things in your life or business may seem dead. It may look like there is no chance of redemption but God may have other plans. Aaron’s rod was a walking staff that he had used for a while. It was a dead piece of wood. How could it come back to life?

The Israelites were questioning the authority of Aaron as High Priest and Moses as the Leader of Israel in Chapter 16 of Numbers. This rebellion was led by Korah and his followers who were rebelling against God’s decision in leadership but they thought they were opposing Moses and Aaron. Moses was fully aware that they were questioning God and he “fell facedown” because he feared God’s wrath for the people. And God’s wrath came in the form of fire which consumed the 250 men of the rebellion. Now that God showed them His decision, He wanted to show His power in choosing Aaron. His instructions were to place the walking staffs of the leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel in the Tent of Meeting in front of the ark of the covenant. God had caused Aaron’s staff to bloom and bear fruit proving Aaron was His chosen High Priest. God took a dead piece of wood and brought it back to bearing fruit! What do you think He can do in your life?

Are there things in your life that appear dead? Are your dreams gone? Do you feel you cannot ever recover? God is a God of resurrection power. He can bring that which appears dead, like Aaron’s staff, back to life! What seems impossible to you is simple for your God. He brought His son back to life for you. Won’t He also resurrect what is dead in your life now? He’s done it before!

If you want to witness a resurrection, you have to keep on going. You have to keep on believing. You may think your dreams will never come to pass. They may just come to stay. You may have just lost a job. God may have a better opportunity waiting. You may have lost a loved one. God may have ended their pain and suffering and taken them unto Himself. With that much power, why doesn’t God return my loved one to me? Are you sure you want to take them away from God where there is no pain or suffering? God’s power can bring the dead back to life. So what is dead in your life? Is it your career? Is it your dreams? Genesis 18:4 asks “is there anything too hard for the Lord?” The answer is no! He can do all things. Will you believe and allow Him to bring things back to life for you?

Lord, we know that all things are possible for You. You brought Aaron’s rod back to fruition. Is there anything You cannot do? Please work in our lives to bring that which was dead back to life. You have done it before. We believe You can and will do it again! In Jesus name we pray.
