Day 1 Who Loves ya?

John 3:16New King James Version (NKJV)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I grew up in a negative home. Don’t get me wrong. We had more than enough of what we needed but not always what I wanted. I wanted to know that I could do anything I set my mind and spirit to doing. I wanted to know I could do the things that God said about me in the Bible. I wanted to know that I could do all things through Him who gives me strength. Instead, I inherited a negative outlook. My Mom had been through a lot and was always made to feel second best. Unfortunately, she passed that on to me. I have decided to lay that down at the foot of the Cross. Any curse or negative evil word ever spoken over me is now broken.

How much do you love? How much do you think others love you? Would you lay down your life for someone else in their defense? Would someone sacrifice their life for you? Someone already did and His name is Jesus! The Creator of the universe thought that much of you that He was willing to give Himself up for you. Read that again and see if you can let that sink in completely. It is almost beyond comprehension. I cannot grasp that kind of love. The other concept that is hard to fathom is that Jesus knew He would do that at the time the world was being formed.

The Story is God’s Story of His love for His people from Creation to Redemption and beyond. He created a universe in which we would live and then created us in His own image and likeness. His love for us has been evident to all who observe the world. The Story is full of examples. We need to read The Story to begin our journey of grasping the magnitude of His love for us. When someone loves you that much, they would do anything for you. With that in mind, ponder all that Jesus has already done. It is awesome. Knowing that you are so loved should encourage you to do great things; to do the impossible. Walk with me on the journey of discovery! You will learn how much you are loved by a good God and all that the Lord has in store for you. Will you accept the blessings He has planned for you? Please open your hearts and minds to all God has in store for you. Receive it in to your spirit and mind and say Amen.

Father, thank you that You love us so much that You are willing to sacrifice everything for us. It is not lightly that a father gives up His child but You did all for me; for us! Help us to grasp the height, width and depth of Your love. And then, let us love others as You have loved us. In Jesus name we pray.
