Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
We need to each other. Gen 2 says 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone;. I believe that two people working together can accomplish as much as five people working alone. There is a synergy that happens when people work together. If you look at that synergy, there is something there that makes things go better. Could it be that the people involved encourage each other? Are you an encourager? Do you encourage others to be their best? Paul asked us to consider how we can spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Can you think of a better mission? If you are always alone, who can you encourage? If alone, who will encourage you? So you see, it is not good for man to be alone.
With that in mind, we are called to build relationships. It is only in relationships that we grow. We are called to love one another. We need to be in relationship to love. What better way to love someone than to encourage them. As a parent, this is even more important. Some parents rant at their kids that “they will never amount to anything” because they did not follow instructions. If God, through Paul, tells us to encourage, why would we say something like that? You mission, if you choose to accept it, is to live in such a way as to cause others to win! Whom will you inspire? How will you do that? Will you use your words to encourage and inspire? I hope so. Don’t wait! Do it now!
Lord, help us to be encouraging. Give us the words we need to say to build others up. Let us share the love You have given us with those we meet. Let Your glory shine forth from us in word and deed. In Your name we pray!
