Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

There are struggles everywhere in the world. The news report shows us all sorts of trouble wherever we look. What’s worse is that, in the midst of tragedy, many people just walk by without giving notice. James 2:17 says faith without works is dead. Do your actions reflect your faith level?
There has long been the argument of faith vs. works. James is used by some to argue the need for works. I want to leave that debate to others. One thing I have always believed is that out of the overflow of blessings I am given, for which I am thankful, grows the desire to help others.
Fifteen plus years ago, Paty Villanueva met children who could not read and had little chance for an education. She had an education and her faith. She felt a calling from God to help others and God opened a door. As His plan unraveled, God brought a school to fruition that we now know as Hearts for Honduras School. There are about 200+ young people enrolled each year getting a good education. What if Paty had not heeded the call? What if she had just walked by someone in need? What level of faith would that demonstrate?
Today, it is your turn. Will you heed the call or will you walk on by and go about your business. Do you hear the call? Have you been blessed with gifts and talents that could benefit others? What will you do about it? Last year, I heard about Hearts for Honduras School from Cam Witt, a local Dentist. He told me about the rewards of serving the children at the school. I heard the call and it kept tugging at my heart. There were 10 other people on the team who also heard that call. God called us and we said “send us!” Send us He did and He does. We are on our way to La Entrada Honduras to answer the call. What are you called to do? Where are you called to go? Are you prepared to answer that call? It is nerve racking to leave your comfort zone.
I went outside the US to a third world country for the first time ever, I did not know any of the people with whom I traveled, I was 2000 miles from home, I did not speak the language and I did not know how to do the job. Other than that, it was a piece of cake! When God calls, He takes you to someplace different. He called Abraham to leave his country and his family and go to a place I will show you. He took me to Honduras. I am on my way back. I was so blessed by the people of La Entrada last year, I want to do it again. I recommend you answer the call! Be bold! He will carry and protect you.
Father, thank You for Your call and Your blessings in that call. You have a way of taking us out of our comfort zone in order to grow our Spirit and refine our person. Protect us from evil and help us grow our relationships with the children and staff. By Your Spirit, bless everyone involved. Amen!
