Matthew 5:6-16 (NKJV)
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Where are you in your walk with Christ? Is it good enough? Are you satisfied to attend Church on Sundays? Is the Kingdom of Heaven yours? How about your walk of faith? If you seek a deeper relationship, the Lord is available and wants to meet you where you are.
I have come to a place in my spiritual walk where I desire a more intimate relationship with my Lord. I seek Him in my life through His word. I hunger for a better world knowing that He can make that happen. I am unhappy that the world is such a dark place where people just do what is good for themselves. It is very frustrating. But every now and then, I am pleasantly surprised by something. In late June, I met a Brother in Christ. I was at a seminar and heard a man speak about his ministry and how it was impacting lives and benefiting his community and I had to know more. During the break, I approached Rev. Clarence asking him if he would share details of how this ministry worked. Clarence invited me and my Pastor to visit with him to learn about what they do and how they do it. The visit was extremely helpful. When I arrived, Clarence greeted me like we were long lost brothers. This was not of my doing. The Holy Spirit arranged that meeting and the relationship and I am blessed by both.
I have sought revival in our community. It is my feeling that we need to draw closer to God to rebuild our morals and values to live the good life God intended. I believe it will take outreach to the community around us. All the things that have been revealed in my heart are things Clarence has done and he is willing to share them with us. I think it is time for Disciples who become Apostles. Clarence told us of their training programs that help make that possible. Now, we have a plan to reach every man in our Church for Christ leading them closer to spiritual maturity. Once there, we can go out to the surrounding community. We hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness. That righteousness will bring incredible blessing to us and those who walk with us. For ours is the Kingdom of heaven!
Father thank You that You bless us in our efforts to draw closer to You. Thank You that You have given us the calling to share Your Good News with those around us. We seek revival Lord. By Your Spirit, draw people closer to You through our words and deeds. Let Your love be evident to others in our actions. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
