Romans 8:31-32 (NIV) More Than Conquerors!
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he [God] not also, along with him [His Son], graciously give us all things?
Have you ever approached a task that looked impossible? Perhaps, at work, you were assigned a project that you had no idea how to complete. You are in way over your head, or are you? Sure, if you try it on your own, it may be more than you can handle. But here’s the thing! You are never on your own! God is for you! Who dares to be against you? You and God are a majority!
God is for you! In Deuteronomy 28, God speaks about all the blessing He has for you if you will obey Him. Here is a small list of those blessings:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
8 The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to.
11 The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity……
12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail.
Sounds like a pretty good list to me. God wants to do all those things for us. In another place, it says “All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God…” With all these things going for you, how can you not prosper and succeed in all the work of your hands. Even better, how about the work you do to the glory of God? Will He not bless that work? So what should you do when you face a challenge that is more than you think you can handle? Why not turn to the One who has blessings stored up for you and desires to help you? In a conversation, a friend said that he doesn’t want to bother God with the small stuff. He figures he should handle some things on his own. But God wants you to come to Him with everything. He created us to be in fellowship with Him. He wants to hear all your thoughts and questions. He asks “so, how was your day beloved?” Do you go to God with everything or do you try to handle most of it on your own? What if you were on a first name basis with the best advisors available? Would you turn to them for advice on daily decisions? Why not turn to the One who created the whole universe for advice? Not only does He know everything but He is just waiting to share that knowledge with you! Ask Him! He will lead you in the right way.
Father, we thank You that You are always there for us when we have questions. Help up to turn to you at all times and not just when we are overwhelmed. Give us the confidence that You are always with us and you will always hear our voice and answer. We might not like Your answer but we know that You always work things for our best. Walk with us this day and lead us in the way we should go. In Jesus name we pray!
