Luke 18:1 1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Prayer changes things. Not everyone believes that but for those who do, prayer changes things. It doesn’t always change the things we want changed nor the way we want them to be changed but it changes things. Faith is an important factor. Jesus told people their faith had healed them.
Many times, we are not sure how to pray. We think we have to use just the right words in the proper format or it won’t be heard. But prayer takes many forms. There are prayers of thanksgiving. There is intercessory prayer. And there are conversations with God. Those are my favorites. So what if you don’t know how to pray. Are you out of luck? Not at all! You see, we have help. Romans 8:26 says “26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” So when you can’t even find the words, God’s Holy Spirit will help you through your thoughts. Ask for help praying. Just talk to God. Jesus says you have not because you ask not! Ask and you shall receive the help you need. And keep praying until something happens.
Father, help us with our prayers. By Your Spirit, intercede on our behalf giving us the words we do not know how to express. And answer our prayers with Your best for us. We only know what we want. You know what we need. Lord, give us Your desires for us which is what we need! In Your name we pray!
