The Lies That Bind!

John 8:31-32 (NKJV) The Truth Shall Make You Free
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The Truth Will Set You Free. .If the truth will set you free, then lies will bind you. Secrets are a type of lie as well and they will keep you from living the open and free life that God created for you. Whenever you try to keep a secret, there is a certain amount of guilt. And that guilt will hinder your life.

What lies have you inherited? Are there beliefs that you have gotten from your environment? Lies about God? Lies about our origins? Lies about your abilities? Lies about other people? Has someone told you that you would never amount to anything? Has anyone told you that you cannot do a particular thing or that you are not good at something? Those are all lies and they can bind you in a way that will keep you from achieving your destiny.

When you were a baby, you did not know what could not be done. You had just come from God and were close to Him. As such, you were also close to you inspiration. As you spend more time in the world, people tell you more about what they think you cannot do and it begins to take its toll. These negative comments will set limits in your mind that will prevent you from accomplishing what blessings God has established for you. The battle goes on in your mind. How can you stop the damage negativity causes? By not letting it sink in to your mind. Compare what people say to what God says. If their comments don’t line up with God’s word, ignore them. Pretend they did not even speak. Joel Osteen says “hit the delete key”. People don’t determine who you are. God already established that before you were born. Believe and live according to His plan. It is always a great life!

Father, thank You that Your plan for us is awesome. Help us to hear what You say about us and ignore the words of the naysayers. You made us in Your image and likeness. Let us hear Your voice; the Voice of truth. And let us live the truth that is found in Your Word. That we are fearfully and wonderfully made. That we are precious in Your sight. That we are Holy, Righteous and Redeemed by Your grace and in Your name. Let our accomplishments be in Your name and to Your glory. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
