Revelation 21:3 (NKJV)
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
Do you want to experience the Presence of God in your life? Revelation speaks of God dwelling with us. The Bible goes even further saying your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit which means God dwells within you. So how come we have trouble feeling His presence and hearing His voice? Could it be we are not tuned in correctly?
In the old days (when I was a kid), we had transistor radios that had a tuning dial for selecting stations. When you tuned to a station, you had to make fine adjustments to get it just right or you would get static and distortion. It was hard to hear if it was not set right. The same may be true in your life. You may not be tuned in just right. The static is keeping you from hearing clearly the call and feeling the Presence. So what can we do about this issue? We can do a better job of tuning in to God. By focusing in on God, through His Word, we will be better equipped to observe His hand in our lives. We are asked to pray unceasingly. We can listen to Christian Radio praise and worship music. This will give us a better focus but how can we manage this. In the 1990s, people wore WWJD bracelets to remind them of Jesus and ask “What Would Jesus Do?” We all need reminders. What can you use as a reminder to help you focus on Jesus? Is it a bracelet? Is there something in your life that you can use as an “anchor” to tie you to thoughts of Christ? Below is St. Patrick’s prayer. It is a bit long. I have my own version that helps. It goes like this: Christ before me; Christ behind me; Christ beside me; Christ within me. Let Christ within you, by His Holy Spirit, burst out like radiant diamonds you cannot contain. And let the world see what following a Risen Lord looks like played out in you! To God be the glory!
Father, thank You that You have come to live within us! Send Your Holy Spirit to show us Your Presence and remind us of You in our daily lives. Thank You that You are our God. Help us to be your people. Write Your story on our hearts. Make us Your people. In Your name we pray!
“Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.” ― St. Patrick
