Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
We were watching a movie and I heard something. They said “Life goes by quickly but kindness lasts forever.” That struck me! If everyone tried their best to be kind to other, wouldn’t our world be a much better place.
Paul is writing the Church at Ephesus telling them not to grieve the Spirit. He is telling them to remove andger and wrath and all things evil. He tells us we are to offer forgiveness and God has done for us. He asks us to be kind.
Did you know there is a website called www.randomactsofkindness.org? There are actually people who want to spread kindness throughout the world. Are they crazy? What kind of world would it be if people started being kind to one another? How would anyone be able to climb over the bodies of their competitors if they took the time out to be kind along the way? This is insane or is it?
When your body is lowered into a grave, it doesn’t matter how much money or success you had. But if you were kind to everyone you met along the way, even the unlovable ones, the blessings you leave behind will live on forever. You can give money but when you give your time, people know you really care. Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit. God also gave us six commandments about relationships to each other in Exodus 20. If you were kind to each other, would you do any of these bad things. Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself. Do you think you would like kindness? The randomactsofkindness.org website goes on to say that kindness spreads. It makes everything around it better. In fact, you can sign up to be a RAKtivist (RandomActsofKindness) today. You can improve your health and well being and that of others simply by being kind to one another. Why not give it a try?
Lord, Your advice is always good and good for us. Help us to be a blessing through kindness to one another. You gave us the ultimate kindness by taking on Yourself all the sin of the world. Let us reflect Your beauty to others through kindness. In Your name we pray! Amen!
I stole this from an e mail I received:
May your troubles be less, your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door. Merry Christmas! “In God I Trust!”
