December 6 TIE it all together

Psalm 32:8 (NIV)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Teach, Inspire Encourage is a phrase that came to me last year. God has revealed to me that I personally will not be able to do all I have done in the past. That is true for each of us. It does not get better. He let me know that He wants these things to continue so I have to teach others. I am an A+ personality. I want to do it all! Alas, I cannot. God has shown me that I can make a bigger difference for His Kingdom by investing in others to multiply my efforts in what He calls me to do. In other words, don’t be Chairperson of one committee but be an encourager to others so they will work on multiple committees. J. C. Penny said I would rather have a one percent stake in 100 people than a one hundred percent stake in one person. Encouraging others will yield greater return for Him and His Kingdom. My how things have changed.

The lord is willing to teach you how. Many don’t like these lessons because some include pain. If you would get the idea sooner, He may not have to take such drastic measures. The key phrase for me is “I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” God will love you through everything. It is all meant for your good. To be counseled requires listening though. He will speak if you will listen.

Many people today don’t teach their kids things. I hear “It is easier to do it myself than waste time teaching them.” If you go that route, your kids won’t know anything. When you are no longer there to do things, they won’t know how and your skill and contribution will be lost. Have you ever wanted to insure a great mission would continue? That will only happen if you encourage and inspire the next generation. And that is not only your kids. I am asking you to teach Sunday School, mentor a troubled teen, participate in Youth Group and Mission trips, shadow a child and be a role model. When you see a person off by themselves, invite them to sit with you! Early teenage years are awkward at best. Why not encourage a young person. I began writing these devotionals because I saw so much discouragement. How are you at loving your neighbor? All it takes is a smile!

Sometime, people won’t teach coworkers what they know because they think they will lose their job. While that is possible, you can always find a better job. If you know what to do, you will always have a job. If you know why you do it, you will be in charge. Teach others. Build a team where everyone supports the others. Work together. It’s more fun!

So follow His instructions and teach others. You will build relationships for the journey and walking with others is always better. But remember, He will keep His loving eye on you .

Lord God, Thank You that You teach us and keep Your loving eye on us.Instruct us in our path. Counsel us as to how You would have us live. In You, we are blessed. Amen!
