March 27 One wish, What is your request?

Luke 18:35-43 Selected Verses (NKJV) A Blind Man Receives His Sight
35 Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. …… 38 And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, 41 saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” 42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

If you were face to face with Jesus, believing that He could grant your wish and He asked what you wanted Him to do for you, what would you request? Do you know what you want? Would you even be bold enough to “cry out”?

One of the things that comes out in the story is the man’s boldness. People tried to shut him up but he wouldn’t have any of it. He continued to cry out. He had faith that could be seen or, in his case, heard! He knew this was “the Son of David” long prophesied. Do you believe Jesus can grant your request? Way down deep in your heart, is there faith that He can see? Many people say they believe but would they go out on a limb on that belief? Would you take the chance? This man believed down in his soul! 42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” Jesus saw his faith and granted his request. He received his sight. The man was appreciative and followed Jesus, glorifying God!

Here is another important key. When God does something for you, do you glorify Him? Do you give Him praise? Our purpose is “to glorify God and enjoy Him forever”! Are you doing that? What have you done for Him lately? Have you pointed others to God with your praise?

Lord, thank You that You are willing and able to grant our requests. You said You will do anything we ask in Your name. By Your Holy Spirit, guide us in what to ask! Give us the desires of our hearts. In Your name and to Your glory, we go out to live this day! Amen!
