March 4 Who are we that You are mindful of us?

Psalm 8:4-5 (NKJV)
What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

In a lot of cases, I get the impression that people don’t really care about me. They seem to be wrapped up in their own concerns and don’t have time to notice others. Do you feel the same way? What if there were someone who always cares for you? When you speak, they are attentive and listen. They pay attention to your moods and are helpful. What if they made you feel important? Would that make a difference? A person like that is usually called a friend.

Sometimes, it is hard to understand that the all powerful Creator of the Universe would want to listen to us and care for us. That He would want a relationship with us. That He would want to bless us. It is hard to understand but true! He is the One who decided to be mindful of us. He created us to be in relationship with Him. It is God’s grace and mercy that leads Him to enter into that relationship.

What a Friend we have in Jesus,   All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry   Everything to God in prayer!

Jesus is more than Lord and Savior. Jesus is also our friend. He is willing to listen. He cares. He is there for us in every situation. Why not speak with Him about how you are feeling. Ask Him to lead you today.

I thank You Jesus that You are willing to be my Savior, my Lord and my Friend! I thank You that I can bring all things to You and You will help me. I do not merit Your friendship and cannot earn it but I thank You that You are my friend by Your grace. I accept Your gift of grace gladly. Amen!
