Undefeated

1 Samuel 17:45-46 (NKJV)
45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you.

Do you face challenges in your own power? We need to learn how to overcome challenges through the strength God provides. David did!

David was a shepherd boy of about 15 years of age. The armies of Israel were shaking in their boots because Goliath stood out there yelling taunts at them. The fact that he was nine feet tall may have been a contributing factor. No one wanted to face him for he was a fierce man of war. Yet David saw and heard Goliath and something came alive inside him. How was David able to be brave when others were terrified? In whose name did David step out?

David did not focus on the size of his opponent. David focused on the size of his God. He remembered that God had been with him before in protecting his father’s livestock. David also used another principle. He remembered the times God had been with him and brought him success. Focus on your successes and not your failures! Focus on all God has done for you. Replay in your mind all the times God has brought you victory. Remember, God is for you. He is on your side. He loves you! The Lord will deliver your enemies into your hands. With God, all things are possible.

Father, we thank You That You go before us to pave the way and with us to give us Your strength. Be with us today in the battles we face and give us Your strength and wisdom. You said the waters would not overwhelm us. Give us courage to trust You and step forward in faith! In your name we pray! Amen!
