Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
What kind of witness are you? If you saw an event take place, would you be able to accurately describe what you saw? Are you a witness for Jesus? If you are going to be a witness for Jesus, what type of witness should you be? Thomas, the apostle, had his doubts about Jesus. He had to be convinced and Jesus knew it. But once he had the facts, he became the ultimate witness. Thomas had seen for himself the proof with his own eyes. He saw the wounds himself. And he declared “My Lord and my God.” There was no more doubt! He became unimpeachable.
Jesus asked us to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. You and I have not seen the wounds in His hands and side. How will we witness to His identity? We have His Word, the Bible. Many say it is just an old book but science is discovering and proving the things it contains. Lee Strobel set out to disprove the Bible and found himself a believer in the process. What about you? Do you believe? Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1) We were not eyewitnesses to the miracles but we have the testimony [the Bible] of those who were. Are you convinced? If not, study the information. I did and found it compelling. Seek answers to those nagging questions. All who seek shall find. And when you find your answers, share the good news with the world. The Bible has stood the test of time because it is the truth; God’s truth! Know for sure that He loved you! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) Know in your heart that He is your Savior, Friend and Lord. And be unimpeachable! Know the truth and that truth shall set you free.
Lord, we thank You for Your truth. It remains the same no matter how many times we tell it because it is the truth. Open hearts and minds to Your message and help us by giving us the words people need to hear. Help us to speak Your truth in love. And may our message be accepted bringing glory to Your precious name. Amen!
